This workshop offers a foundational understanding of how anti-Muslim, anti-Arab, and anti-Palestinian* discrimination manifests in learning, working, and research environments at the University of Toronto and explores the University’s policy and legal responsibilities in addressing it. Premised on current human rights and policy frameworks, this session will help participants build awareness of the lived experiences of Muslim, Arab, and Palestinian community members on campus. Participants will also learn to recognize examples of anti-Muslim, anti-Arab, and anti-Palestinian discrimination and harassment, learn about key tools and strategies for creating inclusive environments, and understand the processes for reporting and responding to such conduct.
