The Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS) in collaboration with the Jackman Humanities Institute (JHI) presents Developmental Editing and your Scholarly Book the next session in the CRIS-JHI Book Publishing Series. This session focuses on developmental editing, what it is, how to do it, and how it can shape and strengthen a scholarly book.
The panel discussion will feature faculty-authors sharing how they approach developmental editing and their experiences taking their manuscript from draft to published book. Attendees will have the chance to receive a copy of Laura Portwood-Stacer's book Make Your Manuscript Work.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the webinar participants will be able to:- Summarize the role of a developmental editor in the scholarly book publishing process
- Identify if and when working with a developmental editor would benefit their scholarly book
- Differentiate between resources available at UofT to support scholarly book publishing
