What does it take to secure andcoordinate a Horizon Europe Cluster 2 grant? Find out at the Division of theVice-President, Research & Innovation’s hybrid "Ask Me Anything"session with Dr. AndrewBricker, a University of Toronto alumnus and Associate Professor of EnglishLiterature in the Department of Literary Studies at Ghent University.
Horizon Europe's Cluster 2, "Culture,Creativity and Inclusive Society," distributesaround C$3.35 billion over seven years of the framework program to awardedprojects in the humanities, social and cultural sciences, and the arts, with afocus on democracy and governance, cultural heritage, and social and economictransformations. This session gives faculty interested in applying theopportunity to ask a successful grantee anything, from proposal development toproject coordination.
Dr. Bricker will open with ashort presentation on his experience securing and coordinating DELIAH: Democratic Literacy andHumour, his Cluster 2 project funded under Horizon Europe, before takingquestions from the room.
The session will be moderated by Dr. M.E. Luka, AssociateProfessor of Arts & Media Management at the University of Toronto andfounding co-lead of the UTSC Critical Digital Methods Institute. Dr. Luka hasreceived a Horizon Europe Consortium-Development Seed Grant, from theUniversity of Toronto, and a Destination Horizon Grant, from the SocialSciences and Humanities Research Council.
Join Dr. Bricker and Dr. Luka toask about the consortium-building process, what a competitive Cluster 2application involves, and what running a funded project requires. Submit yourquestions in advance at registration or raise them during the session.
As the venue has limitedin-person capacity, early registration is recommended. A hybrid option is available for people unable to attend in person. Please note that this event will NOT be recorded.
