KT Canada Summer Institute 2026 – Jun. 8-10
Session Description
June 8 2026 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
KT Canada announced that the 2026 KT Canada Summer Institute will take place in Ottawa, Ontario, from June 8–10, 2026. The event will be hosted at the University of Ottawa and co‑organized with the University of Ottawa’s School for Epidemiology and Public Health, The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, and the Knowledge Translation Program at Unity Health Toronto.
This year’s theme is “Implementation Science – Applications and Advancements.”
The Summer Institute integrates both the science and practice of knowledge translation (KT). Participants may go on to pursue careers in KT science, KT practice, or a combination of both across diverse professional settings.
The program offers attendees the opportunity to deepen their understanding of KT research and explore the opportunities and challenges within the field. It also provides valuable networking opportunities with colleagues and national and international KT experts.
A new feature for 2026 is the introduction of two participant streams:
Track 1: Applying Implementation Science in Practice
Description: Track 1 provides foundational training in applying KT and implementation science tools in real‑world practice. It is particularly suited to individuals who are new to KT or implementation science, or those in roles requiring the implementation of evidence‑based practices.
Track 2: Advancing the Science of Implementation
Description: Track 2 focuses on identifying and addressing conceptual and methodological gaps in implementation science. Participants will also develop grant‑writing skills for implementation science projects. This track is ideal for researchers or trainees interested in advancing KT science.
Registration Fees
- Trainees: $495 CAD
- Junior faculty & research staff: $1,099 CAD
Registration fees include meals and snacks during the event. Transportation and accommodations are not included. Participants may book reasonably priced dormitory accommodations at the University of Ottawa, and additional details will be provided to accepted applicants in their confirmation email.
