Open Doors: Faith & Anti-Racism @ U of T – Nov 17, 2025

Session Description

November 17, 2025 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Since 2024, we have offered competency and capacity-building opportunities for EDI Leads and other senior leaders and administrators to learn more about the needs of and forms of discrimination faced by different faith communities on campus. Informal meet and greets with the Institute of Islamic Studies and the Centre for Jewish Studies allowed for a better understanding of these campus centres as well as those who work, teach, and learn, in these spaces every day.

Similar opportunities are now available as well to the broader U of T community to have candid conversations about creed-based and race-based identities and increase their understanding of the needs of diverse faith-based/spiritual/religious/ethno-cultural and racialized communities on campus.

With hospitality being a central tenet and virtue in many cultures, traditions, and philosophies, we want to open doors to some of the spaces at U of T that serve as intellectual and community hubs for creed and race-based communities. Join us for our inaugural Open Doors session at the University of Toronto Multi-Faith Centre to learn more about the unique programs and spaces on offer there. This small gathering — open to a maximum of 15 people — will include candid conversation, a tour of the MFC’s spaces for reflection, prayer, and spiritual practice, and a chance to meet Faith Advisors affiliated with the Centre.
