Preparing Your Nomination: RSC College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists -Oct. 29, 2020

This workshop is designed for Early Career Researchers (less than 15 years since receiving PhD or equivalent)  interested in preparing a nomination for the RSC College for the upcoming Dec. 1, 2020 nomination deadline, or subsequent nominations.

The session will draw upon expertise from RSC peer reviewers, academic leaders, and other experts. Speakers will discuss how to identify nominators, secure strong and letters of support, the nomination process, and the critical importance of developing strong impact statements.  

Panel members Professors Mark Lautens and Bernie Kraatz will share their perspectives as award adjudicator and nominator, respectively, on why University of Toronto applicants are well-positioned to submit strong applications for this prestigious honour. They will be joined by experienced Awards Manager Daniel Harney to moderate the dialogue and share tips and guidance for putting together a successful nomination package. 

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be better able to:  

  • Identify benefits of applying to become a member of the RSC College
  • Plan strategies for developing a nomination 
  • Prepare a nomination that meets requirements and peer review standards
