Session Description

This workshop examines the purpose, impact, and effectiveness of land acknowledgements in reconciliation and decolonization. Participants will discuss land rights, Indigenous sovereignty, and the responsibilities tied to acknowledging territory. Through reflection and activities, attendees will craft meaningful, action-oriented acknowledgements that foster genuine respect, accountability, and a deeper commitment to Indigenous communities.

Please be aware that smudging, which involves the burning of sacred herbs such as sage or sweetgrass, may be present during our workshops. We acknowledge that some participants may have smoke allergies or sensitivities to scent.
