SSHRC Partnership Programs Webinar – Thursday, May 28, 2020

Session Description

May 28, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm EDT

This webinar will provide an overview of the SSHRC Partnership Program opportunities:

Professor Shelley Stagg-Peterson, a recent Partnership Grant selection committee member, will discuss the adjudication process and the elements of a strong proposal. There will also be advice on partnership planning and proposal development from members of the Research Services team.

Partnership Engage Grants provide short-term, timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector. These one-year projects are meant to respond to immediate needs/opportunities and time constraints facing organizations in non-academic sectors.

Partnership Development Grants provide support over one to three years to teams/partnerships, led by a project director, to:

  • develop research and related activities in the social sciences and humanities by fostering new partnerships for research and related activities involving existing and/or potential partners; or
  • design and test new partnership approaches for research and/or related activities that may result in best practices or models that either can be adapted by others or have the potential to be scaled up to a regional, national or international level.

Partnership Grants provide support for new and existing formal partnerships over four to seven years to advance research, research training and/or knowledge mobilization in the social sciences and humanities through mutual co-operation and sharing of intellectual leadership, as well as through resources as evidenced by cash and/or in-kind contributions.

  • Partnership Grants are intended for large teams working in formal collaboration between postsecondary institutions and/or organizations of various types.
