SSHRC Partnerships Grant: Strategies for Success – October 22, 2025

The Division of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation is hosting an upcoming webinar on the upcoming SSHRC Partnership Grant (PG) competition for the University of Toronto community.
The Partnership Grant program supports new and existing formal partnerships to advance research, research training and/or knowledge mobilization.
This session is designed to support researchers and divisional research support staff, providing information, tips and strategies for applications to the SSHRC Partnership Grant (PG) competition, particularly, for those intending to apply to the February 2026 competition.
The session will include:
- A general overview of the PG competition, including eligibility guidelines and recent competition statistics
- Tips and strategies for addressing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion considerations in the application
- Research Security requirements that have been recently introduced to the PG application
- A panel discussion on proposal development strategies and insights into the adjudication process featuring recent SSHRC PG awardees and a former member of a SSHRC adjudication committee
- Information on budgets, PG team member roles, and partner contributions/letters, as well as internal deadlines, submission process and supports and resources available to UofT applicants
Learning Objectives
- Identify techniques and strategies to write a successful Partnership Grant;
- Better understand how to position the grant to appeal to the adjudication committee;
- Locate resources and support for addressing equity, diversity and inclusion in partnership applications; and
- Develop a strong draft in advance of the RSO editorial review deadline.
