Guidelines & Toolkits for Conducting Community-Based Research
- SSHRC Partnerships Toolkit – This toolkit aims to help researchers and partners plan and implement a partnership, from preparing an application for partnership funding to knowledge mobilization activities.
- Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans. Chapter 9 of the TCPS2 includes guidance for involving Canadian Aboriginal peoples and for CBPR
- Research Toolkit – A toolkit for health research in partnership with practices and communities.
- James Lind Alliance Priority Setting Partnership Guidebook – This guidebook includes a step-by-step guide to establishing and managing a Priority Setting Partnership (PSP) and the principles behind it.
- Involve UK Resource Centre Briefing Notes for Researchers – This online resource provides a set of 10 briefing notes on how to involve members of the public in research.
- Making Community Partnerships Work – This toolkit addresses action plans that focus on prevention, education, advocacy and research programs, with a focus public health and human services.
- A Short Guide to Community-Based Participatory Action Research– The toolbox presents research concepts, methods, and tools through topical guides and toolkits such as Community Research, Participatory Asset Mapping, and a Short Guide to CBPAR.
- Community-Based Research 101– A series of e-learning modules from Universities Without Walls.
- Community-Based Research Toolkit – The tools, templates and resources in this toolkit were compiled and developed by the CBR team at Access Alliance based on half a decade of implementing CBR projects
- U of T also maintains several institutional memberships and shared resources to assist divisions and researchers with advocacy, outreach, and community building, of particular relevance is Community-Based Research Canada, a non-profit member organization to which U of T belongs.

Internal Funding Programs
- U of T Community Partnership Research Program. This initiative is jointly funded by U of T and the Connaught Fund, and is intended to help create new collaborative research partnerships, or nurture early stage partnerships, between the University and community partners. This program also known as Connaught Community Partnership Research Program also has an Connaught Indigenous Funding Stream.

- Northern Oral Language and Writing through Play (NOW Play) project (SSHRC funded)
- Connaught Community Partnerships Research Program 2020 – Awards for Researchers
- International Partnership for Queer Youth Resilience brings together over fifty academic and community partners from Canada, the United States, Latin America, and the United Kingdom.
- The Family Camera was a collaborative, community-based project at the intersection of photography and oral history.
- The Centre for Research & Innovation for Black Survivors of Homicide Victims (The CRIB) is a multidisciplinary social work research centre focused on using community-based methods and principles to advance research, policy and practice for Black survivors of homicide victims.
- School of Cities -Affordable Housing Urban Challenge Project: supports research in affordable housing and convenes community partners involved in affordable housing advocacy and activism. This multidisciplinary research group explores and supports partners in Community Land Trusts and Alternative Land Tenures in the City of Toronto.
