CIHR Summer Project Grant Writing Workshop Session 1: Crafting a Winning CIHR Project Grant Application – Jun. 21, 2023

Arts & Science Research Services is pleased to announce thereturn of the CIHR Summer Project Grant Writing Workshops. This year, allUniversity of Toronto research faculty members who are applying to orconsidering the CIHR Project Grant competition (Fall 2023 or a future round) areinvited to participate. If you are a staff person supporting this competition,you are welcome to join the sessions.
Session 1 will focus on best practices, tips, and strategies forwriting a competitive proposal.
The workshops will be led by Professor Jennifer Mitchell,Associate Chair, Research in the Department of Cell & Systems Biology,Faculty of Arts & Science. In session 1, Professor Mitchell will be joinedby guest presenter Professor Hilary Brown, Department of Health and Society, U of T Scarborough, who holds theCanada Research Chair in Disability and Reproductive Health. ProfessorsMitchell and Brown are multiple CIHR grantees and CIHR Peer Review Committeemembers.
Faculty members are encouraged to sign up for all or as many summer workshop sessions in this series that interest them. Sessions 2 and 3 (separate registration required)will focus on:
- Session 2 (Aug 9, 2023, 1:00–3:30 pm): How to Think Like a Reviewer: A CIHR Project Grant Hands-On Workshop
- Session 3 (Aug 30, 2023, 1:00–4:30 pm): CIHR Project Grant Peer Review Roundtable
