The mandate of the Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS) is to provide researcher-centered, practical and coordinated supports to faculty and divisional research offices. CRIS is a partnership, launched by the Division of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation, the University of Toronto Libraries and Information Technology Services.
Provide leadership and coordination with central units and academic divisions to promote the visibility of, and access to existing research and innovation supports across the tri-campuses.
Promote opportunities to bring people together, creating space and supports for collaboration and partnership, within and outside of the University.
Partner to bring together expertise and resources across units to coordinate and deliver complementary services and supports related to emerging unmet needs.
Achieving research-centred, impactful, and relevant service by providing meaningful opportunities to engage and understand our stakeholders.
Identifying existing resources and supports to amplifying access, spread, and scale across the university.
Leverage existing expertise and resources and avoid duplication of efforts.
Pulling together Pan-University teams, to deliver on our priority areas.
Providing structure and guidance, tools and templates to standardize research offerings across U of T, and supporting best pedagogical and leading practices.
Furthering successful and competitive research that attracts funding and garners public recognition.
Maintaining a lean operational structure while identifying opportunities to share resources, reduce duplication of effort, and optimize service efficiency.
Enabling U of T faculty to maximize the impact of discoveries and insights and the mobilization of those insights to society.
