In Conversation With…Visiting Topics in EDI in Research & Innovation is a series of discussions with experts at University of Toronto on how to embed best practices and strategic EDI approaches within the research and innovation ecosystem. Each session will be hosted by Dr. Nicole Kaniki, the inaugural Director of EDI in Research and Innovation, and she will be joined by guests from across the tri-campus for these conversations

Session 6: Accessibility in Research

Accessibility in research and innovation goes beyond physical accommodations in the research environment. It is about the intentional inclusion of researchers and research participants with disabilities, as well as accessibility considerations in the research methods and methodologies.

In this session Dr. Kaniki discusses with experts in the field of Accessibility in research the ways in which researchers can ensure that their environments are more accessible for faculty, trainees, and staff with disabilities, and addressing ableist practices in research methods and impact. 

Attendees are invited to join the conversation by sharing your ideas, candid questions, expertise, successes and strategies!
