Session Description

May 3, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

This is a photo of 7 scientists. There are three scientists working in a lab. Two of them are posing and the last scientist is at a chalkboard teaching.

Join the Division of the Vice President Research & Innovation (VPRI) for an info session on the University’s Connaught Fund and its funding programs available to the U of T research community.

The session will be led by Prof. Leah Cowen, Vice-President, Research and Innovation, and Strategic Initiatives, along with U of T researchers who have received Connaught support.

The speakers will share insights on the objectives of the Fund, how Connaught funding seeds success in external funding opportunities, strategies for applicants, and future directions of the program.

About the Connaught Fund:

Established by the endowment resulting from the sale of the Connaught Labs, which played an instrumental role in the discovery of insulin and production of other vaccines in the 1920s, the Connaught Fund carries on that legacy of groundbreaking discovery by supporting innovative research with societal impact. Currently, the Fund supports over 200 awards totaling over $5M per year.
