This year, the Acceleration Consortium is excited to host the 4th annual Accelerate conference at the MaRS Discovery District and the University of Toronto’s Schwartz Reisman Innovation Campus. Featuring modern, open spaces, both venues are home to tech startups, research institutes and global companies synonymous with innovation – the ideal spot for the conference. There will also be an Accelerate evening social on August 12 at Eataly Yorkville, where you will have the opportunity to connect with fellow attendees over an Italian dinner in the heart of the city.
Keynote Speakers:
- Rafael Gomez-Bombarelli, Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Rafael brings experience from both academia and industry, with leadership roles at ventures like ZebiAI and Calculario. He is a recipient of Alphabet’s 2019 Google Faculty Award and the 2021 Machine Learning in the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Award from the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation.
- Mitra Taheri, Johns Hopkins University – Mitra is a professor in the department of materials science and engineering, director of the Materials Characterization and Processing (MCP) facility, and a member of the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute. She is a 2021 Brimacombe medalist from the Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society for her pioneering contributions to in-situ microscopic and spectroscopic characterization, as well as a commitment to diversity in mentorship of the next generation.
