Decorative Poster for Back to In Personal Facilitation Basics on Oct 14 2022

Session Description

October 19, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join the CRIS Collaborative Programs Officer for an in-person offering of the 'Back to Facilitation Basics' workshop! This hands-on training will focus on activities and tips & tricks for in-person facilitated sessions.

About the workshop:

Picture this: you are in a 3-hr team brainstorming session, or a strategic research planning retreat, or maybe a consensus building workshop with your policy or practice stakeholders. When these sessions go well, you may feel energized and engaged and leave feeling motivated for the next steps. However, when these sessions do not go well, you may leave feeling frustrated and disconnected. So how can you, as a facilitator, guide your group to more engaging collaborative conversations?

One of the key ingredients in planning an energizing facilitated session is good planning. If you have facilitated group conversations in the past, it might not surprise you to learn that 8+ hours of planning is required for every 1 hour of in-session facilitation! In this workshop, the CRIS Collaborative Programs Officer will go ‘back to the basics’ by sharing some practical strategies and tools to get your started as you plan your next collaborative engagement. We look forward to your participation, and learning from your experience, in this interactive, in-person, workshop!
