The Centre for Global Engineering (CGEN), in collaboration with the SDGs@UofT and other entities, invites you to CGEN Forum: Building a Tri-Regional Network on Disaster Risk Reduction and Community Resilience, as a part of CGEN’s 2025 initiative to build a regional research cluster on disaster risk reduction and community resilience.

This initiative has been developed in collaboration with the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and is supported by the Office of the Vice-President, International. It aims to foster a community of practice and strengthen partnerships among researchers, practitioners, and community members focused on disaster risk management, climate adaptation, and just transition.

In this forum, a panel discussion will be hosted focusing specifically on transdisciplinary research:

Panel Topics

  • Building communities of practice
  • Humanitarian technologies and disaster risk management
  • Climate-resilient infrastructure, housing, and wildfire
  • Food security and community resilience
  • Youth climate leadership and just transition
