Community Engagement Series – Advancing Equity in Childhood Disability Research Partnerships with Often Excluded Children, Youth, Siblings, and Caregivers: A Grounded Theory Study – Apr. 15, 2025
Session Description
April 15 2025 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
This presentation shares interim findings from a SSHRC-funded study on engaging often-excluded populations in childhood disability research, based on interviews with disabled children, youth, caregivers, and researchers who have partnered with them. Findings highlight motivations for partnership, recruitment challenges, engagement principles, and reported outcomes. Join Dr. Michelle Phoenix, Associate Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University and CanChild Scientist, along with research assistant Logan Wong, for a presentation on how to engage often excluded populations in childhood disability research.
