The Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS) is launching a new series: Drawing Across the Disciplines. This series will focus on Knowledge Translation and Mobilization in a variety of media and formats. 

Join us for the launch of the series with a panel discussion, Drawing Across the Disciplines: Comics and Graphic Scholarly WorksNon-fiction graphic novels, comics, graphic medicine, and other sequential publications provide researchers a powerful opportunity to connect with peers and with a broader audience thereby increasing their reach and potential research impact. This panel discussion will bring together scholars working in the fields of graphic medicine, linguistics, and creative writing to showcase their recent work and provide insight into how to begin doing this type of work.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain a deeper understanding of comics and graphic narratives in a scholarly context
  • Explore how scholars are creating comics and graphic narratives in their research practices
  • Identify opportunities to co-create comics and graphic narratives with UofT colleagues
  • Compare disciplinary uses of comics and graphic narratives in publications and other formats
