How to Prepare for a Horizon Europe Call in Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy and Mobility) – Jan. 15, 2025
Session Description
January 15 2025 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
The Division of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation is hosting a webinar on Horizon Europe to promote this significant new funding program and provide specific information about its Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy and Mobility) opportunities to U of T faculty interested in applying in 2025.
Horizon Europe is the world’s largest research and innovation collaboration program, with a total budget of C$140 billion (2021-2027). The program is structured into three pillars, and Canada has recently become an associated country eligible to apply for Pillar II: “Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness”. Canadians can now participate in or create international consortia to apply for Pillar II project calls and receive grants directly from the European Commission.
Of Pillar II’s six thematic clusters, Cluster 5 has the second largest budget, distributing around C$22 billion over the seven years of the framework program to awarded projects. These projects are designed “top-down” and are described in detail on the Work Programme, an official document published periodically. This session is designed to provide contextual information to interested faculty members in preparation for the publication of the 2025-2026 Work Programme, expected for Spring 2025.
