Inequity Thematic Program-hosted Catalyst Grant Writing Workshop – May 19, 2022

Session Description

May 19, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Data Sciences Institute has launched Round 2 of its Catalyst Grants, a competitive seed funding program for multidisciplinary teams forming a Collaborative Research Team (CRT). DSI funding supports CRTs focused on the development of novel statistical or computational tools or the use of existing methodology in innovative ways to address questions of societal importance and effect positive social change.A proportion of the Catalyst Grant funding is prioritized for research projects related to the DSI Thematic Programs.

To support applications from researchers using data science methodologies to explore inequity, the DSThematic Program in Inequity Academic Co-Leads will host a grant writing workshop tailored to the Catalyst Grant competition. The session will be co-led by Sherri Klassen, Assistant Director of the Centre for Global Social Policy, Faculty of Arts & Science, and Mark Abraham, Strategic Research Grant Officer, Data Sciences Institute.

The workshop will be held on May 19, 11AM to12PM, and will focus on best practices for effective grant writing and strategies for centering research on inequity in a proposal. There will be time during the session for participants to ask questions and discuss ideas.
