Graduate students, are you starting to think about your post-dissertation life? Are you curious about an alternative academic (or “alt-ac”) career? Wondering how you can mobilize your graduate degree into a range of fields? Do you need some guidance on how you could frame those experiences for hiring managers? 

Join the Jackman Humanities Institute for a workshop featuring a session on “translating” the academic CV into a professional resume and hear from a roundtable of panelists and hiring managers about their career paths and experiences, and what they look for in a job candidate. Topics include:

  • Developing marketable skills during your RAships
  • Translating your research skills for an outside market
  • Creating a career narrative
  • Best practices for reframing your academic CV into a resume
  • What hiring managers look for when reading a resume and cover letter
