My Research Funds (Upgrade to MROL and FReD) – Consultation Workshop UTM

The Division of the Vice President, Research & Innovation (VPRI) in partnership with the Office of the Chief Information Officer is embarking on a project to upgrade and modernize My Research On Line (MROL) and the Funded Research Digest (FReD). The system, which will be called My Research Funds, will provide a streamlined user experience and offer improved tools to aid researchers and administrators in managing research funding at the University of Toronto. My Research Funds is part of the broader U of T Enterprise Modernization Program that aims to transform the core Research, Human Resources, and Finance systems using the latest enterprise software technology.

What is My Research Funds?

My Research Funds is an online interface to the University’s Research Information System (RIS) and Financial Information System (FIS). It will provide researchers, project managers, divisional administrators, and VPRI administrators with role-based access to information about research funding, including details about awarded applications, financial account details, and funding history. My Research Funds will be part of the My Research suite of services that collectively support the University’s research enterprise, and users will access the system in the MR Portal using their UTORauth credentials (UTORid and password). My Research Funds will replace MROL and FReD when the system goes live in late 2020.

We need your input on the proposed changes

In January 2019 the VPRI held an initial round of consultations with users of MROL to identify user priorities, issues, and suggestions for system improvements. The comments and ideas from these consultations has shaped the design concepts for the new system and we now need your feedback on the proposed changes. The VPRI is hosting a second round of consultation workshops that are open to all users of MROL and FReD.
