Session Description

September 12 2024 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

The Centre for Research & Innovation Support, in collaboration with Research Services Office, is hosting a webinar on the upcoming 2024 New Frontiers in Research Fund (NFRF) - Exploration competition for the University of Toronto community. The objective of the Exploration stream is to support high-risk, high-reward and interdisciplinary research. It seeks to inspire projects that bring disciplines together beyond traditional disciplinary or common interdisciplinary approaches by research teams with the capacity to explore something new that might fail, but that has the potential for significant impact.

This session will feature a faculty discussion focused on sharing insights into the adjudication process, best practices, and proposal tips.

This session will also include a general overview of the NFRF-Exploration competition, budget considerations, and the application process and deadlines. A question & answer period will follow.

Presenters:

  • Amy Bilton, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering
  • Daniel Chung, Associate Professor, John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design
