Praxis Workshop: Social Annotation as Scholarly Practice

Session Description

October 1, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

The workshop will go over using the social annotation software hypothes.is for collaborative commenting and annotation. There will also be a conversation that addresses how we think through/about the questions: How do social annotation practices enrich digital humanities scholarship? And how does social annotation bridge our web 2.0 communication and academic communication styles? Why is this important to consider in the context of accessible, open, social digital humanities pedagogy?

This workshop will be facilitated by Arun Jacob. Arun is a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Information, University of Toronto, working in the Media, Technology, and Culture concentration. His research interests include examining the media history of educational technologies.
