Session Description

This session will support trainees in understanding what underpins successful research partnership with Indigenous communities. Foundational theories and central tenets of research with Indigenous communities will be discussed, followed by a deeper examination of the way in which core principles can be actualized.

OBJECTIVES:

• Describe fundamental principles for working with Indigenous communities.
• Outline best practices for realizing principles.
• Provide clear examples of best practices in forming genuine partnerships with Indigenous communities.
