Research Ethics in the Health Sciences Info Session – Feb. 4, 2021
Session Description
February 4, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Faculty members, graduate students, and staff are invited to attend. Workshops will include a presentation with opportunities for questions and discussion. Learning objectives include the following:
- Understand history and principles behind research ethics review
- Describe procedures under Tri-council policy statement: Ethical conduct for research involving humans
- Explain UT’s risk matrix for assessing participant vulnerability and research risk
- Understand free & informed consent, privacy & confidentiality, conflict of interest, inclusion/exclusion criteria
- Discuss ethics issues related to specific projects and methods
The research ethics workshops are eligible for credit in the School of Graduate Studies Professional Skills (GPS) Program.
