Learning Objectives
- Understand the history and principles behind research ethics review
- Describe procedures under the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans
- Explain UT’s risk matrix for assessing participant vulnerability and research risk
- Understand free & informed consent, privacy & confidentiality, conflict of interest, inclusion/exclusion criteria
- Discuss ethics issues related to specific projects and methods
