SRI Seminar Series: Laura Rosella, “From development to deployment: Can we improve the health of populations with AI?” – Oct. 23, 2024

Session Description

October 23 2024 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

This talk delves into the critical question of whether AI can meaningfully improve the health of populations. From the AI development phase to deployment, we will explore how AI can be leveraged to address the broad and interconnected determinants of population health. With a focus on human-centered and responsible AI deployment, we will examine key principles such as transparency, equity, and accountability. The discussion will also highlight distinct AI applications that have the potential to improve health outcomes at both individual and community levels, emphasizing the need to align AI-based technological innovations with health system actions that meaningfully advance population health goals. Through this lens, the talk will cover how developers and health system leaders must contemplate the use of AI to address the growing challenges facing health systems and population health.
