Strategies for Systematic, Scoping, or Other Comprehensive Searches of Literature – Part 2

Part 2: Beyond Medline: Translating Search Strategies

Audience: University of Toronto graduate students and faculty engaged in health science research.

Date: Tuesday, February 8th 2022

Time: 2:00pm – 4:00pm (+ mandatory pre-work module, approximately 60 minutes)

Location: Online via Zoom (meeting link will be provided in registration confirmation email)

 

By the end of this 3-part workshop series, participants will:

  1. Identify databases for their review and explain when to use them
  2. Practice using an objective, structured method for developing sensitive search strategies required for knowledge synthesis
  3. Apply a structured approach to searching their question in OVID Medline

By the end of Part 2 of this workshop series, participants will:

  1. Delve deeper into the advanced features of interfaces and databases which allow for editing and refining a search strategy
  2. Translate and execute structured search strategies using different databases, including OVID Embase, and Ebsco CINAHL
