Wikipedia in the Classroom: AHSS/August Bootcamp (Aug. 18, 2021)

Session Description

August 18, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm EDT

How does Wikipedia work, and how are we using it in the context of the web? How do we talk about it or bring it into the classroom? We’ve heard that Wikipedia is biased, but how so? What does intervention look like?

This one-day bootcamp will equip you to think through these questions and plan for Wikipedia use in the classroom. The bootcamp is open to all course instructors and library staff. Presented content will speak most directly to areas of study in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. There will be news on tailored programming for the natural and applied sciences later in the year.

To participate, you will need a computer, internet connection, and Zoom access. Sessions will involve a mix of presentations, discussion, and exercises for daily projects.
