Internal Debrief
After a facilitated session, schedule an internal debrief meeting that includes the facilitator, support staff, and relevant stakeholders to discuss the facilitation process and outcomes.
A key next step for the facilitator, support staff, and relevant stakeholders is to schedule a debrief after the facilitated session. There is tremendous value in taking time to reflect and discuss the facilitation process and outcomes. This will help to inform future facilitated sessions that will lead to continued success. It is also recommended to review the post-facilitation survey results during this debrief. A few powerful questions to consider:
- What were we trying to accomplish?
- What happened during the facilitation?
- What can we learn from this experience?
- What should we do differently next time?
- What are the next steps?
