BASF Open Innovation
With global revenues of 68.9 billion Euros in 2023, BASF continues to drive economic success with environmental protection and social responsibility. This lecture will discuss BASF’s open innovation initiatives. Topics include how BASF approaches partnerships in innovation, core areas of focus for research, and how to protect IP and trade secrets in an open innovation ecosystem.

The Speaker: Benjamin Raerup Knudsen
Benjamin Raerup Knudsen is Vice President of Research North America with BASF Corporation, a role he assumed on June 1, 2022. In this position, Knudsen is responsible for BASF’s research activities in the region.

Knudsen joined BASF in 2017 as General Manager for BASF Enzymes LLC and Head of White Biotechnology in North America. Prior to that, he was Director for R&D at Novozymes Corporation in North Carolina, USA. Other positions held at Novozymes included managing Application Research and Manufacturing Operations in Brazil, and other roles in Denmark.
