Introduction to Using NVivo 14/15 for Qualitative Data Analysis (Mac Version)
Session Description
February 3, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
- What: Learn to use a market-leading, point-and-click qualitative data management and analysis tool, NVivo, by performing common tasks, such as loading in data, coding, running queries, and exporting.
- Why: Learning qualitative data analysis skills and tools will help you organize and participate in qualitative research projects, gain insights into your data, communicate your findings, and stand out in the job market.
- Software: Faculty, staff, and students at the University of Toronto can get a free license key for NVivo. Note: Either version (NVivo 14 or 15) can be used for this workshop; however, NVivo works differently on Macs vs Windows. If you are running NVivo on Windows, you should attend the Introduction to NVivo 14/15 (Windows Version) workshop instead.
- Who: This workshop is designed for those new to NVivo 14/15. Skills gained can help participants working with qualitative data from any discipline: Humanities, Social Sciences, or Sciences. There are no prerequisites or assumptions of knowledge of statistics or programming.
- When: Monday, February 3, 2-4:30pm
- Where: Online via Zoom link (provided upon registration)
- How: This is a 2.5-hour online workshop, consisting of a short lecture and then a series of demonstrations, which you can follow along with or just watch, interspersed with self-paced activities. There will be one 10-minute break in the middle.
