The Urgent Important Grid is a great tool to help your team visualize items of high and low priority on your current project.

The simple grid is organized into 4 quadrants:

  • Top right: items of both high importance and urgency,
  • Bottom left: low importance and urgency.

Take your list of items (e.g., research questions, project tasks, solutions, problems, etc.), and as a group place each item on the quadrant. If you are in person, you can project the template for your team to view on the wall. If you are virtual, you can create this grid on a virtual whiteboard.

Once all the ideas have been sorted, take 5 minutes to debrief the contents discussed and the next steps.
