2022 SSHRC IDG Information Session
Session Description
December 7, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
The University of Toronto Research Services Office is hosting an online information session for the 2022 SSHRC IDG competition.
Topics covered will include a general overview of the SSHRC IDG, the adjudication process and the elements of a strong proposal, budget considerations, and the application process and deadlines (both internal at UofT and external to SSHRC). This session will be held online, through Microsoft Teams, and it will be recorded for future reference. If you have a question during the session but are not comfortable asking it while the session is being recorded, then you can contact Mark Bold (mark.bold@utoronto.ca) before or after the session to speak about it.
There will be two presenters for this information session:
- Professor Amaya Perez-Brumer, Assistant Professor, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, SSHRC IDG awardee, and 2021 SSHRC IDG adjudication committee member (Multidisciplinary or Interdisciplinary Social Sciences committee)
- Mark Bold, Social Sciences & Humanities Research Funding Officer, UofT Research Services Office (mark.bold@utoronto.ca)

After this session, attendees will have a better understanding of:
- the SSHRC adjudication process for Insight Development Grant applications
- eligibility guidelines for the IDG
- IDG budget considerations and concerns
- tips for building a stronger proposal
- the internal application process at UofT (via MRA) and external to SSHRC, and the deadlines for both
- resources available to applicants
