CDRS/RGASC Collaborative Writing Workshop: Demystifying the Writing Process

CDRS is partnering with the RGASC to host a collaborative writing workshop on July 31st for faculty, postdocs and grad students before the next CDRS summer writing retreat (August 1-3rd). Three faculty speakers and three graduate student speakers will be sharing their best writing strategies and tips, as well as hands-on writing activities based on three themes: 1. Time Management & Planning for Writing, 2. Goal Setting for Writing, 3. The Writing Process (from data collection to outlining, the writing process, and editing).

The goal of the workshop is to have open productive discussions about the academic writing and research process and its many challenges, as well as to have facilitated writing activities in a workshop format in order to learn from each other.

*A light breakfast, coffee & tea, and lunch will be provided.

AGENDA:

10am-12pm: Theme 1: Time Management & Planning for Writing (featuring one faculty speaker and one graduate student speaker)

12-1pm: Lunch

1-2pm: Theme 2: Goal Setting for Writing (featuring one faculty speaker and one graduate student speaker)

2-2:15: Coffee Break

2:15-4pm: Theme 3: The Writing Process (featuring one faculty speaker and one graduate student speaker)

4pm: Wrap up and end of workshop
