CIHR Summer Project Grant Writing Workshop Session 3: Peer Review Roundtable – Aug. 30, 2023

Arts & Science Research Services is pleased to announce thereturn of the CIHR Summer Project Grant Writing Workshops. University of Toronto tenure-stream faculty members (with full-time budgetary appointments) who are applying to the CIHR Project Grant competition (Fall 2023 or a future round) areinvited to participate.
Theworkshops will be led by Professor JenniferMitchell, Associate Chair, Research in the Department of Cell & SystemsBiology, Faculty of Arts & Science. Prof. Mitchell is a multiple CIHRProject Grant recipient and CIHR Peer Review Committee Member.
Session 3 willbe structured as one or two peer review panels (10 participants max in total). In addition to receivingvaluable feedback from colleagues, participants will also peer review otherdraft applications in advance and share their feedback during this session. Priority will be given to Tri-campus Arts & Sciencefaculty members and Early Career Researchers (ECRs). New this year: Alimited number of spots will be held for ECRs who would like to attend the peerreview session as Observers.
Participants will be required to register for the session two weeks prior to the session (by August 16), and submit their draft application one week prior to the session (by August 23).
Faculty membersare encouraged to sign up for all or as many summer workshop sessions in thisseries that interest them. Sessions 1 and 2 (separate registration required)will focus on:
- Session 1 (June 21, 2023, 1:00–2:30 pm): Crafting a Winning CIHR Project Grant Application
- Session 2 (Aug 9, 2023, 1:00–3:30 pm): How to Think Like a Reviewer: A CIHR Project Grant Hands-On Workshop
