Diversity in Research Design
Session Description

This information session will focus on considering sex, gender, and/or diversity in research design and the research process. Presenters will provide an overview of the concepts of sex/gender and GBA+ (gender-based analysis plus) in research, and a panel of U of T researchers from a range of disciplines will discuss how they have integrated considerations of sex, gender, and other factors into their research questions and methods.
TESTING Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to
- define the concept of sex, gender, and GBA+ as they apply to research
- understand how research can benefit from considerations of sex, gender, and/or diversity
- identify methods for analyzing sex, gender, and other factors that intersect with sex and gender (race, income status, geography, biological factors, socio-cultural factors, etc.)
- craft a research proposal that effectively demonstrates how sex, gender, and/or diversity have been considered in the proposed study
