NSERC Discovery Grant: Strategies for Success – Sept. 15, 2022

September 15, 2022 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
The Centre for Research & Innovation Support, in collaboration with Research Services Office, is hosting a webinar on the upcoming 2022 Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Discovery Grant program for the University of Toronto community.
This session will feature a faculty panel of recent members of the Discovery Evaluation Committees and successful Discovery applicants. Panelists will share their experiences participating on the evaluation committee, and tips for writing a strong proposal.
This session will also provide a general overview of the Discovery Grant, including:
- process, application requirements and eligibility,
- changes for this year’s competitions,
- evaluation criteria, and
- proposal development.
A question & answer period will follow.

After this session, attendees will have a better understanding of:
- how NSERC Evaluation Committees adjudicate Discovery applications,
- strategies for writing stronger proposals, and
- resources available to applicants.
Additional Information
A follow-up session titled, "Addressing EDI Considerations in Your NSERC Discovery/RTI Application" will take place on Sept. 20, 2022 and will provide an overview of the EDI requirements and expectations of the upcoming 2022 NSERC Discovery Grant.
