Share an Item on Your Desk

A great introduction activity for new teams!  If you are looking for a quick, virtual warm-up activity to introduce new team members in a professional and personal way, this is a great activity for you.  

Getting started: 

• Use a round robin sharing format in a large or small group.
• Displaying the instruction slide (see templates and downloads), invite each team member to present an item on their desk and share any meaning or significance the item holds.
• As a facilitator, set a timer for 30 seconds. Let the group know this is a rapid sharing and you will cut them off if they go over time! Letting the group know this in advance makes it easier to interrupt if needed.
• Allow each member to speak for this time, and once the timer goes off, the next person can proceed. This will allow for rapid exchanges and provide a little insight into everyone. This is also a perfect icebreaker as it allows everyone to get engaged and speak early in your meeting which can help to promote engagement.
