The Anti-Racism & Cultural Diversity Office compiles a calendar of U of T events, campaigns and initiatives recognizing Black History Month, Black history or Black community. As U of T celebrates Black History Month in February, members of our community are invited to submit their initiatives.

Additions to University of Toronto Library Collections

The library has acquired the following resources:

Sabinet African Journals collection includes full-text electronic journals from or pertaining to Africa, demonstrating the breadth of African research. Licensed by the University of Toronto Mississauga, the Sabinet platform allows researchers to access content in areas including business and finance, education, labour, law, medicine and health, science, technology, agriculture, religion, and others.

Women and Social Movements: Development and the Global South (1919-2019) highlights individual efforts, organizational initiatives, and socio-cultural projects led by or for women to highlight the evolution of transnational feminism. Of interest to those in development studies, women and gender studies, sociology, public policy, African studies, economics and feminism, international relations, and anthropology.

Ghana in Records from Colonial Missionaries, 1886-1951 contains records from the United Society Partners in the Gospel, a UK-based Anglican missionary organization and provide insights into the development of Christianity in Ghana. Records in the collection include letters, reports, and supplementary material relating to missionaries who worked in Ghana through 1886-1951. Of interest to scholars in African history and studies, theology, sociology, and women and gender studies.

Nominations are now open for the tri-campus 2024 Sustainable Action Awards. The Sustainability Office is accepting nominations to recognize those who helped make U of T the most sustainable university in the world. Nominations are due February 23.
