Cyber Security Training for Faculty

Information Security is inviting faculty members to enrol for essential cyber security training. The online training aims to create a security-aware culture across U of T by equipping staff, librarians and faculty with the knowledge to protect themselves and the University against security threats. Units are invited to enrol faculty, and faculty members can also enrol themselves.

National Consultations: Toward a Canadian Sovereign Compute Strategy

Through Budget 2024, the Government of Canada announced new investments of $2.4 billion in Canada’s AI ecosystem. They have also committed to consult with key research and industry stakeholders to develop and set criteria for Canadian AI Sovereign Compute Strategy and the AI Compute Access Fund.
Stakeholders are invited to share their views about how the strategy and the access fund should be designed and implemented. The U of T research community is encouraged to complete the online survey or make a written submission by September 6, 2024 sent to aicompute-calculia@ised-isde.gc.ca.
Alternatively, you may provide feedback to the Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation who is preparing a submission on behalf of the university. Please send to vp.research@utoronto.ca by August 29, 2024
Staffing Announcement – Director, High Risk and Divisional Support, Office of Safety and High Risk

As of September 3, Shaun Narine will be joining the University as Director, High Risk and Divisional Support. He joins U of T from a career with the Toronto Police Service, where he held the rank of Superintendent and oversaw the Emergency Management and Public Order Unit.
