Consultations on Civil Discourse @ U of T

In response to growing polarization in society and on university campuses, Provost Trevor Young appointed Professor Randy Boyagoda as the Provostial Advisor on Civil Discourse. As part of his mandate, Professor Boyagoda is leading a Working Group on Civil Discourse, the goal of which is to contribute insights towards strengthening a culture of respectful dialogue and the discussion of challenging subjects at the University. 

Appointment of Professor France Gagnon as Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation, U of T Mississauga
Original Communication – Provost’s Weekly Digest: October 4, 2024 
The Agenda Committee of Academic Board has approved the appointment of Professor France Gagnon as Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation, at U of T Mississauga for a two-year term – from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026. 

Appointment of Professor Alison Mountz as Interim Vice-Principal Research & Innovation, University of Toronto Scarborough

Professor Mountz brings excellent administrative leadership, experience, and research excellence to the role. Given her time in the Office of the Vice-Principal Research & Innovation (OVPRI), initially as the Associate Vice-Principal, Research & Innovation, Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships (July 2023 to April 2024) and currently as Acting VPRI (April 2024 to present), she is well prepared to assume the role of Interim VPRI, UTSC. 

New Information Security Website

The new Information Security website (https://security.utoronto.ca) is now live!  The old website (https://isea.utoronto.ca) will be decommissioned on Oct. 15, 2024. Please update any URLs from the old site with the new site.

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month, a globally recognized campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of information security. Every year, the University of Toronto celebrates Cyber Security Awareness Month with events and educational resources aimed to equip the tri-campus community with knowledge on information security.
