The Centre for Research & Innovation Support, in collaboration with Research Services Office, will be hosting a special equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) session on the 2022 Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Discovery and Research Tools and Instruments (RTI) grants.

This session will build on faculty panel discussions focused on proposal writing tips and reflections on the adjudication process: “NSERC Discovery Grant: Strategies for Success” and “NSERC Research Tools and Instruments (RTI) Grant: Strategies for Success”.

This follow-up session will specifically provide an overview of the EDI requirements and expectations of the upcoming 2022 NSERC Discovery and RTI grants. Specifically, this session will discuss:

  • the concepts of EDI in research design and research team/training practices,
  • concrete practices for advancing EDI in the research team and training plan,
  • addressing sex, gender, and diversity considerations in research design, and
  • resources at UofT that support EDI in research and innovation.

A question-and-answer period will follow.

Featured Presenter:

  • Andrea Gill, PhD, Research Equity and Diversity Strategist, Research Services Office
