Why Partnerships?

Session Description

February 2, 2022 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm EST

Have you ever wondered how research partnerships with community, industry, non-profit or other academic partners can benefit you, as a Humanities researcher? Wondering why or how to scale up your research?

Join the Jackman Humanities Institute (JHI) and the Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS) on February 2nd from 11:30am-1pm for this singular opportunity to hear from faculty colleagues about the ins and outs of connecting with research partners. This session will outline:

* WHAT are the possibilities of Partnership research – for you and for your partner organization?
* WHO should you partner with, for a meaningful research relationship?
* WHEN in your research career should you think about partnering?
* WHERE should your partners be located?
* HOW can you determine which grants to apply for?

Panelists: Mohan Matthen (Professor, Department of Philosophy, UTM), Jaclyn Rohel (Community Engaged Humanities Research Fellow, Jackman Humanities Institute) and Shelley Stagg Peterson (Professor, OISE, Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning)
