Series Description
The Division of the Vice President Research & Innovation (VPRI) will be delivering a series of webinars in the coming months to increase awareness and understanding of SSHRC Partnership Funding opportunities, and to encourage and support researchers with the planning and development of competitive proposals for these programs.
- SSHRC Partnership Development Grants: Models and Strategies for Success
Date: Wednesday, May 19th, 2021, 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. - SSHRC Partnership Development Grants: Proposal Development Workshop
This session will offer a close review of the Partnership Development Grant (PDG) application requirements and proposal content, proposal adjudication and evaluation, and offer specific advice for writing and refining a PDG proposal.

- SSHRC Partnership Engage Grants
In this session, faculty and staff will provide an overview of the Partnership Engage Grant Program, share insights on key elements of competitive proposals, and share resources and strategies for successful proposal planning and development. The session will feature a panel of University of Toronto researchers who hold Partnership Engage Grants.

SSHRC Partnership Funding Opportunities
The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) offers a suite of partnership funding programs that support research, research training and knowledge mobilization activities for new and existing partnerships. Partner organizations support the activities of the partnership by sharing in intellectual leadership or providing expertise, and are expected to provide cash and/or in-kind contributions.
Partnership Grants
Partnership Grants (PG) provide support to new or existing formal partnerships for initiatives that advance research, research training and/or knowledge mobilization in the social sciences and humanities.
Value: $500,000 to $2.5 million over four to seven years
Deadline (Stage 1): February 10
Partnership Development Grants
Partnership Development Grants (PDG) provide support to foster new research and/or related activities with new and/or existing partners; and to design and test new partnership approaches for research and/or related activities.
Value: $75,000 to $200,000 over one to three years
Deadline: November 15
Partnership Engage Grants
Partnership Engage Grants provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making at a single partner organization from the public, private or not-for-profit sector.
Value: $7,000 to $25,000 over one year
Deadlines: March 15 and June 15, September 15, December 15
