Additions to University of Toronto Library Collections

The library has acquired the following resources:

History Vault: Bexar Archives collection includes documents from the governments of Spain and Mexico from 1717 to 1836 that detail military, civilian, and political life of the Spanish province of Texas and Mexican state of Coahuila y Texas. Of interest to those researching the military, civilian, and political aspects of life in colonial Texas during the Spanish and Mexican periods.

Planet.com is a leading provider of Earth observing satellite imagery. This powerful resource offers unprecedented insights into our changing planet. While we have subscribed to this platform since 2021, in 2023 our bundle was upgraded to include the high-resolution (0.5-0.7m) SkySat image archive, in addition to near-daily 3-metre PlanetScope satellite imagery. Interested users must request an account through the Map & Data Library.

Environmental Issues Online brings together multimedia materials around key environmental challenges, including climate change, water/air pollution, biodiversity, conservation, agriculture, deforestation and more from the 20th and 21st centuries. Content is drawn from discipline perspectives including Anthropology, Diplomacy, Ecology, Economics, Geography, History, Law, Medicine, Politics & Policy, Sociology, and Photography. Of interest to scholars in environmental studies and science, botany, anthropology, sociology, climate change, public policy, and political science.

Original Communication – Provost’s Weekly Digest: Jan. 26, 2024
In accordance with section 83 of the Policy on Appointment of Academic Administrators, the Vice-President and Principal has appointed a committee to advise on the appointment of a new Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation, University of Toronto Mississauga. The Advisory Committee will begin meeting shortly and welcomes comments and input.
