Additions to University of Toronto Library Collections

The library has acquired the following resources:
Walt Whitman and his Fellowship of Supporters in Bolton, 1891-1913 collection includes letters, photographs and other material produced by the Bolton Whitman Fellowship. Whitman maintained an active correspondence with the group and his inner circle continued this tradition after the poet’s death. Of interest to scholars in American literature and studies, poetry, and American history.
History Vault: Southern Life and African American History, 1775-1915, Plantation Records. Of interest to scholars in American history and politics, African American history, and cultural studies.
Part 3: This installment includes papers about the ride, cotton, and sugar plantations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. The collection also includes diaries documenting the daily life during this period. Topics covered in this installment include Southern politics, settlement of the Southern frontier, and the daily lives of enslaved peoples.
Part 4: This installment focuses on the cotton and tobacco plantations in North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama. Records in this collection document the lives and work of enslaved people, purchase of and sale agreements, account books, and correspondence papers.

Original Communication – Provost’s weekly Digest: May 24, 2024
The Provost’s Office will continue to contribute 50% of the cost associated with the NCFDD (National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity) Faculty Success Program and the Post-Tenure Pathfinder’s Program, provided that the home unit or Dean’s Office contributes the remainder of the funds. A one-year pilot of a new reimbursement process for the Faculty Success Program will be implemented on July 1. The reimbursement process for the Post-Tenure Pathfinders Program remains unchanged.
