The Innovations & Partnerships Office (IPO) is pleased to present the Researcher’s Guide to Industry Partnerships. This instructive guide provides a fundamental overview of industry partnered research engagements and acts as a resource for U of T’s innovative research community. It covers the essential elements of sponsored research partnerships and aims to address some common questions regarding the development of a partnership with an industry sponsor. It also identifies the internal U of T resources available to help researchers successfully navigate and manage such partnerships.

Would you like to gain skills in research that can transform the world for the better? Do you want to co-design equitable research that is helpful in creating stronger, more responsive, and supportive communities? The Community-Based Research Certificate Course: Fundamentals and Excellence will enhance your research capacity in theory, methods, and tools for conducting research with communities. Facilitated by leaders in community-based research with special guest speakers, this interactive course will take a deep dive into community-based research and emphasize practical applications of learning at each stage. Participants will have an opportunity to workshop their own community-based research projects and upon completion receive a Community-Based Research Fundamentals and Excellence certification issued by Community-Based Research Canada.

Professor Lorraine Ferris’ final term as Associate Vice-President will end June 30, 2024. Interested individuals may self-nominate. Nominations are welcome by May 10.

A new initiative, developed and implemented by the Sustainability Office in partnership with university stakeholders, aims to offset the impact of necessary air travel by charging a fee for every kilometer flown and reinvesting that money into U of T projects that reduce emissions and increase sustainability benefits.
